The clinic describes some outstanding scenic features of the line that are well worth modeling, and suggests S scale rolling stock, both scale and hi-rail, to get the modeler started on their journey. With articulated steam, unique diesels, interesting run-through power including the famed Nickel Plate Berkshires, mixed freight, coal drags, passenger service, a mix of industrial, rural, and mountainous terrain, and connections with an amazing number of other railroads, the P&WV is a modeler's paradise!

A.C. Gilbert, American Flyer and the Connecticut Connection

Presenter - Roger Schneider

Toymaker Alfred Carlton Gilbert acquired the rights to the "American Flyer" toy train line from W. O. Coleman in 1938 and moved their production from Chicago to New Haven, Connecticut. With the introduction of the post-war American Flyer line, the Connecticut connection blossomed with engines, rolling stock and accessories having Connecticut- related names. This clinic will investigate that connection.
